This week we will update our digital portfolios, review for the EOG and complete grade conferences.

Homework: Make sure your digital portfolio is up to date and you've returned your copy of A Mighty Long Way.
This week we will finish up our Module 3 paper! Due date is TBD (probably Wednesday or Thursday in class). Papers MUST be submitted via Google Classroom.
Papers cannot be "shared" on Google Docs.
We will also hold a seminar that will count for a portion of the paper grade.
Next, we will transition to the Module 3 Performance Task.
This will be completed in school over the course of this week and next.
Homework: Continue working on your final paper! Read Chapters 16-17 in A Mighty Long Way
This week there is no school on Monday, due to the teacher workday! When students return, we will hit the ground running! We will go over our gist statements for the speech. "I Have A Dream" and will answer text-dependent questions.
Then, we will finish our evidence collection of events that illuminate the situation in Little Rock alongside those that are inaccurate or have incomplete details as to what is actually occurring. We will use evidence collected to help us plan and organize our Module 3 paper.
This week we will be looking at the advantages and disadvantages of text, and we will finish our other text, Little Rock Girl, 1957. We will also continue to add to our gathering evidence note catcher as we prepare to write our final paper.

This week we will continue with part 2 of Module 3. First, we will begin previewing different mediums, and looking at the disadvantages and advantages of each. We will focus on speeches, photographs, and videos this week. We will also continue to read in Little Rock Girl, 1957. On Friday, we will have our List #11 stem quiz.!

This week we will prepare for and have a Socratic Seminar. This will conclude Module 3, Part I. Then we will move onto the first three lessons of Module 3 Part II where we start to examine the Brown v. Board of Education court case. Then, we will dive into our other Module 3 text, Little Rock Girl 1957.
*We will take the Math and ELA Benchmarks on Wednesday & Thursday of this week.
This week we have no school on Monday! We will complete lessons 9 & 10, and will learn about high school registration with our fabulous counselor, Mrs. McKanna. We will also do a targeted review of vocabulary, as this is one area we have room to grow, based on last quarter's work. Students will go through a brief mini lesson, and will complete practice EOG questions on the specified standards.

This week we will continue diving into Plessy v. Ferguson and the Dissenting Opinion. It is INTEGRAL that students are able to grasp what each of these documents means AND how it shaped the future of our nation.

We are focusing greatly on historical events that shaped the nation, and how things have changed over time. We will be relating these events to Carlotta's life, and her journey to justice as a part of the Little Rock 9.

Welcome back, Eagles! This is a super short week. We will begin by delving straight into Module 3! We will start the unit with lessons 1A and 1B. We will look at the guiding questions and big ideas for the unit and go through an overview of our module. Students will also get their module text A Mighty Long Way by Carlotta Walls LaNier and their workbook.
Homework: Begin reading Chapter 1. We will focus on pages 5-6 and pages 16-17.
